I have finally made it to the blogspot!!(Thanks for your help, Rebecca!) Naturally, being as opinionated as I am, I have been very excited to type in my two cents, but also being 40+, I had a tough time getting myself accessed, oriented, etc., without my 10-year-old here to help me! Maybe you could put together a step-by-step "how to get started" blog that we could forward to our other not-as-computer-savvy blog-challenged friends :)

Post-Election "Blues" (or "Seeing Red")

Whether you're feeling congratulatory or conciliatory about the results of our local and national elections, let's remind ourselves and each other of the importance of being grateful and thankful for our "one nation under God", no matter what state it(or we!)is in. As rough as things are right now, and as tempting as it can be to blame and complain, we've all got to respect the courage it must take for ANYONE to step up and take on the job of President and/or public servant. Whether we love 'em or hate 'em, we need to pray for our government officials - (we're told to pray for those in positions of authority, as well as to pray for our enemies, so being "red" or "blue" doesn't let us off the hook just because the elections have been decided!)
God bless America, and all of us - we need it!

I like what anonymous said in "Post-Election Blues" about praying for our leaders! 1 Timothy 2:1-4 says,"First of all, then, I ask that supplications, prayers, petitions, and thanksgivings be offered for everyone, for kings and for all in authority, that we may lead a quiet and tranquil life in all devotion and dignity. This is good and pleasing to God our savior, who wills everyone to be saved and to come to knowledge of the truth."
President-elect Obama needs our prayers perhaps more than any President in recent history. There's a lot going on right now that he will have to contend with, so let's pray hard!
