Swine Flu - Are you concerned?

I went to a conference on bird flu last year; it was concerning and I did start a bird flu stockpile of supplies. Does this recent swine flu worry anyone? Do you have provisions in case of a pandemic?

Everyone should have an emergency supply of canned food & water. If there is any kind of pandemic, 100-1000 people will be sick in any given town. What will that look like? People won't be able to go to work, grocery stores won't be able to operate, food won't be able to be delivered (truck drivers will get sick too!), banks won't be able to open, daycare and schools won't be able to be open so as to prevent the spread & consequently parents won't be able to go to work... it's a trickle down effect that can halt our economy & your world.

My philosophy, there is no harm in being prepared (for any emergency). Have some canned meat (tuna) and some canned veggies and fruit. Also, have water. Remember, 1 can of tuna isn't going to feed yourself or your family for 1 week -- have enough supply to eat.

Again, even if this pandemic of swine is controlled; it can't hurt to be prepared. Remember 9/11? Things slowed down for several days. Now, imagine if everyone in your town was sick. You won't be able to get the essentials you need. Stock up a little at a time - pick up a can here and there. (And be sure to recyle out your cans as the dates expire).
