Chicks' Rule

I couldn't resist the play on words -- yes, chicks do rule! And on chickchat4us, there is only one real rule.... no mean chicks!

Some have been asking about how to blog, when to blog, what to blog. So here is the scoop! This is a place for "us" --- so let's chat it up & have fun. In theory, Judy and I will post a new topic everyday and we're hoping the topic will get a conversation going and open an opportunity to share information, a web link, a laugh, etc.

If any "chickadees" want to talk about something in particular - email us at chickchatmoms@aol.com and we'll post your topic so everyone can see, read and chat.

And this goes for anything on the site -- want to include a link, a recipe, a voting topic, a prayer request, a new link segment --- just email us and we'll get it on chickchat4us.

Chickchat4us is a conversation in progress. Please add to it & pass it along to anyone you think may be interested. The more chicks chatting, the more conversations, information and fun for all. Judy and I are not the "mother hens" here -- we're all just chicks looking for a place to chat!

(FYI: If you want to comment on any of the original "blog posts", just click on the comments link after each post. This will take you to a link to make a comment/post. If you want to become a chickadee (& we want you to!) - just click on the link under Become a Chickadee that says: follow this blog and this will take you to a link to join us. Happy blogging chickadees!)

Good Lesson for Teaching Independence.

Took the kids to the grocery store after school. (Mistake #1). Had only one checkout line open in addition to self serve and then one with 15 or less. It was empty so I asked the man if I could go through (Mistake #2). Nola in her haste (at my urging to hurry up) dropped the eggs back into the cart. (Mistake #3). Egg all over the cart, floor, and food about to be purchased. I tell Nola and Aidan they cannot get alpha bits cereal b/c egg is all over it. I get the look, you know the one that says tears are imminent. Ask they if they can go get another box while i straighten out this mess (meanwhile, long line of shoppers forming behind me with less than 15 items and large attitudes. (Mistake #4). Children have not returned after mess is cleaned up. Tell the cashier to hold on and I find Nola and Aidan wandering through the pasta aisle, no where near cereal. I wonder why my children cannot independently go get a box of cereal at the age of 5 and 6 when we have gone to the same store for the past 3 years every week. Then I realize it is because I limit their independence on a daily basis. Decided I really need to work on that.
