Home Renovations
They are great when they are done, but they are anything but as you do them! Let's hear home renovation stories, advice and suggestions! I know we gutted our current home (and lived to tell!). I always have two cents to offer to anyone doing it. My favorite advice, though, which has proved true every time is from my good friend Michelle; she said all projects will take: "twice as long & cost twice as much". I wish it wasn't true, but it always has been!

Once I reconciled myself to the "twice as long, twice as much" reality, renovations became much easier!
Online info. gathering, waiting until you lOVE the paint/tile/fixtures that you choose, and NOT rushing into anything have also been good lessons. My mom advised me to live in my house for at least a year, and to do one room at a time, start to finish before tackling the next, and after NOT taking that advice the first time, I have learned how good it was!
