Miss America Pageant

During the Q & A portion of the Miss America Pageant, Miss Calf. was the recipient of the following question...
"Do you support/where do you stand on same sex marriage"?

Based on the medias' reports, her answer stating she was against it, lost her the title of Miss America. Do you think that question belonged in the competition?

Personally, I don't think that was an appropriate question for the pageant, regardless of who ended up w/the question. It was faith based and way too political and controversial. Should they ask a contestant what they think about religion? Which one is right or better...I don't think so. What I do give Miss Calf. credit for is being true to herself and her values and answering the question honestly. She showed character and integrity...those are qualities I'd like to see in Miss America !!!

Totally an inappropriate questions - the pageant has changed over the years to be less superficial, but come on. This question is so riddled with intense emotions, religion, culture, etc.... it had no place in the pageant.
I agree w/ Judy though - kudos to Miss. California. She said what she believed and that is hard to do in this day and age where everyone is so easily offended!
